Children from around the world love to take part in holiday festivities – whether for Eid, Christmas, Hanukkah or other celebrations – and to spend time with friends and family. Sponsored children are no different! Lift up your spirit and hear four children from Bolivia, Ethiopia, Ghana and Uganda talk about their favourite Christmas memories. 152-U2002580 -Halimah “My name is Halimah, and I am 12 years old. I live in Nkumba, Uganda with my mother and four other siblings. My mother works as a day labourer and I help her by washing dishes, doing the laundry and sweeping the yard. I like playing netball and dodgeball with my friends at school. I am a good student and I hope to be a pilot one day. Christmas is my favourite holiday because I get to spend time with my family.”   152-G1001285 - Sulemana “My name is Sulemana and I live in Savelugu, northern Ghana. I am seven years old and I live with my mother and grandmother and ten other children. My father works hard to provide for my family, but this means he has to work far away in another community. I help my family by taking care of our goats, sheep and chickens. I am sometimes shy, but I like playing with my friends at school. I want to grow up to be a teacher. My favourite holiday is Christmas because I get more time to play!”   152-B2002313   “My name is Ever and I am eight years old. I am from La Paz, Bolivia and I live with my mother, father and four other siblings. My mother is a cook and my father is a truck loader at the local brick factory. I like playing football with my friends when I have free time. I help my family by helping in the kitchen, washing dishes, and running errands. My favourite time at school is snack time! I love Christmas because I get to spend time with my family and I get to play more with my siblings.”   “My name is Kalkidan and I am four years old. I live in Cha152-E2002870 - Kalkidanncho, Ethiopia with my mom. My mom helps support me by working as a day labourer. I attend kindergarten and I am learning my alphabet and numbers. I like going to school so I can play with my friends. Christmas is my favourite time of the year because I get to spend more time with my mom playing.”
